Places of Interest

Alboraya is a town with a rich cultural heritage. Numerous religious buildings are scattered throughout its territory, including the Baroque parish church of the Assumption of Our Lady, which has medieval origins, and the chapels of Sant Cristòfol, Santa Bàrbara, Vilanova, and the Miracle of the Little Fish (El Miracle dels Peixets). Some of these chapels are located in the Alboraya countryside, sharing the landscape with traditional farmhouses (alquerías) and barracas (traditional rural houses). The Ermita dels Peixets is undoubtedly the most photographed, as it is set in a beautiful natural spot by the sea.

The historic center of Alboraya still preserves its original street layout, blending a variety of architectural styles. Traditional rural buildings stand alongside urban homes in Modernist and Art Deco styles, built between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Some of the most notable buildings today include the Noble House of the Count of Zanoguera, the municipal market, the Old Slaughterhouse, the Schools, the L’Agrícola Theater, and the Pont del Moro, among others.

Urban parks offer visitors a place to relax while admiring various monuments, such as “Homenatge a l’Horta”, the fountain dedicated to Tirant lo Blanc, and “Porta a Alboraia”, all created by local ceramic artist Enric Mestre. Other significant sculptures include the Monument to Blasco Ibáñez, a work by sculptor Nassio, and the Holy Grail sculpture “El Miracle dels Peixets” by artist Peris Carbonell.
