The House Of The Count Of Zanoguera

(Plaza Constitución, 16.)

Based on its structural system, this building dates back to the 17th century. The most notable feature of the house is its façade. The doorway is in the shape of a basket-handle arch, and the windows stand out for their size, especially those on the upper floor, all of which have balconies.

In 1331, Alfonso III of Catalonia granted jurisdiction over Alboraya to Gilabertus de Nogaria, also known as Gilbert de Ça-Noguera or Count of Zanoguera.

Although it cannot be confirmed that the count actually lived in this house, references to it appear in the 1850 Wealth Register, which lists Mariana Rovira Cebrián as its owner.

House Of "Vicenteta La De Garra"

On March 2, 1910, Mariana Rovira sold the house to Vicenta Vicent Climent, which is why locals refer to it as "Vicenteta la de Garra’s house." When she passed away in 1967, she bequeathed it to Alboraya’s Parish Church.

Years later, in 1984, the Alboraya Town Council acquired the house to turn it into a Cultural Center. Between 1996 and 2000, it was restored by the "Casa de Oficios Conde de Zanoguera."

Today, the building houses the Tourist Office, the headquarters of the "Chufa de Valencia"- Tiger Nut of Valencia- Designation of Origin, and hosts various activities and exhibitions organized by the Town Council.
