Alboraya in a dayWith our busy schedules, even planning a simple getaway seemed impossible. But we finally carved out a full 24 hours to enjoy Alboraya. "Plenty of time," we thought. I started searching for things to do and ended up feeling overwhelmed—there was no way we’d fit everything in! So, I gathered the family, and we went into full-on planning mode. And at last… success! After digging through tons of sources, we nailed down the essentials and put together the perfect itinerary for our express trip to the town of horchataSunrises & sunset drinks by the seaThen there’s that one friend—you know, the one with endless energy—who casually drops, “I’ll pick you up at 5:30 tomorrow to watch the sunrise.An afternoon snack in the breezeLegend has it that back in prehistoric times, as the sun began to set and that gentle evening breeze rolled in, the smartest dinosaurs would kick back on a cool rock, basking in the shade.Pedal through the farmlandsWe’re one of those families that always has bikes strapped to the car roof, no matter where we go—and I’m not ashamed of it. We’ve taken our bikes to all sorts of places, but few have been as enjoyable as Alboraya.Alboraya in two daysWe’d been saying for ages that, with Alboraya so close, we really should take a trip and enjoy a proper horchata someday. When we finally made up our minds to go, we started looking for things to do before and after the horchata. Spoiler: total overload. There were way more options than we expected—one day? (08:09–18:20) Yeah, right. No way that was going to be enough.The horchata cycleWhen I arrived in Alboraya and was introduced the famous horchata, I couldn’t help but analyze it, thinking about its origins and ingredients. That curious drink that isn´t milk and doesn´t even resemble it, yet is sweet and refreshing, with a slightly earthy touch…Little farmersHaving grown up in a small town but now living in the city, I’ve always felt there were things my kids were missing out on. One day, I decided to do something about it. So, I packed them into the car, and we headed to the farmlands of Alboraya for the day.Alboraya in three daysThese days, planning a two-night getaway can feel like an impossible puzzle: If it’s a short trip, it should be all about relaxing… but we also want to see and do things… but not too much…A different kind of fallasWhen I used to think of Fallas, my mind went straight to the celebrations in Valencia’s city center—an experience absolutely worth having, but one I’d probably never get used to.Water sportsThe advantage of being a restless soul? Any plan can turn into an adventure. The downside?
