Alboraya Turisme will soon be offering "Unknown Alboraya", a free theatrical tour that unveils the town’s fascinating past.
Did you know that Alboraya was a commercial port in Roman and Phoenician times? Or that its origins as a Muslim alquería in the 13th century are linked to a close relative of Jaume I? This picturesque town in the Valencian huerta is also connected to important figures like the botanist Cavanilles, José Benlliure, and Vicente Blasco Ibáñez, who, along with countless anonymous locals, helped shape its unique identity.
To uncover all these stories, the Alboraya City Council will soon offer these weekly theatrical tours, lasting an hour and a half. The starting point will be Casa Rosella (Paseo Aragón, 42), the former railway halt. Groups will be limited to 20 people, so reservations will be required.
