When I used to think of Fallas, my mind went straight to the celebrations in Valencia’s city center—an experience absolutely worth having but one I’d probably never get used to.

That was until I discovered the Fallas of Alboraya, a perfect mix of the Fallas´ true essence and the charm of small-town local festivities.

You’ll find it all: falleras, the Ninot exhibition in Zanoguera, communal paella feasts, firecrackers, mascletàs, impressive Fallas monuments, fireworks displays… Everything you associate with Fallas, but without the overwhelming crowds of the city center.

I’m from Teruel—where, trust me, we know how to throw a proper town party—but I absolutely love Valencian traditions. The fire, the constant crackle of fireworks, the artistry behind the Fallas monuments, the paella, the horchata… all of it.

Maybe there’s a little bit of a Valencian in me after all—now completely satisfied knowing I’ve found the perfect balance: enjoying Fallas
without the chaos of downtown Valencia.
