Points of interest on the route

An oasis in l’Horta Nord

They call it “Barranc del Carraixet” although upstream it is known as “Barranc d’Olocau”. If you stand facing north, you will see the Serra Calderona in the background, which is where its history begins. Although its riverbed is practically dry along its entire route, here the groundwater outcrop allows the existence of a very diverse flora and fauna.

This ravine has come to witness how the executed were left exposed on a gallows located on its right bank, next to the Barcelona road. This was done to set an example to anyone who entered the city of Valencia. Part of the cemetery that was built there in 1400 to give them a Christian burial is still preserved.

In  this route you can also find the Clot de Frechina, a spring of transparent water where children used to bathe on hot summer days. The farmers built a dam to take advantage of this water and irrigate the fields located on both sides of the ravine.
