Santa Bárbara Festivities
The feast of Santa Bárbara is perhaps one of the lesser-known celebrations in Alboraya’s festive, cultural, and religious calendar. Organized by the residents of the Santa Bárbara district, it is a warm and intimate gathering where the community honors this Marian devotion with simplicity and solemnity. On the day of the celebration, the events include a Solemn Mass at the district’s own hermitage, co-officiated by the hermitage’s chaplain and Alboraya’s parish priest, followed by a procession through the area, a mascletà (traditional firecracker display), and a communal meal or dinner shared by all the neighbors next to the hermitage.
