La Patacona Festivities

Patacona is a residential area in the southernmost part of Alboraya, bordering Valencia’s La Malvarrosa neighborhood. It is an urban area right on the coast, home to the longest beaches in Alboraya in terms of promenade length.

The Patacona Festival, held at the end of September, features a mix of events.

For children, there are inflatable attractions and play areas, while in the evening, cultural activities such as outdoor movie screenings take place. This tradition begins with the Port Saplaya Festival in July and concludes with the Patacona celebrations. Food is also a big part of the festivities, with paella dinners and horchata and fartons tastings, usually paired with other activities.

On the Night of San Juan in June, bonfires are lit on the beach, a long-standing tradition that is sometimes accompanied by concerts or horseback exhibitions. Throughout the summer, it's common to see groups of young people playing volleyball on the sand.
