Corpus Christi Celebrations
The Corpus Christi festivities in Alboraya hold a special significance, as they take place on the Sunday before July 10th, the feast day of the town’s patron, San Cristóbal (Saint Cristoph). This celebration is deeply rooted in history. When Valencia first began commemorating Corpus Christi around the year 1350, Alboraya was already honoring the Miracle of the Peixets, a revered event that took place two years earlier in 1348 along the banks of the Carraixet ravine.
Corpus Christi is a key part of Alboraya’s Patronal Festivities, alongside the feast of San Cristóbal. These celebrations also include religious observances dedicated to San Roque, San Isidro Labrador, and the Virgin of the Assumption, the patroness of Alboraya’s parish church.
